jgsugden has been analysing the make-up of cases, based on information people have provided to him.
Here are some preliminary results. I still need to process and analyze more data before I can be sure of more than these things:
* There are no significantly disproportionate appearances in any rares, uncommons or commons. In other words, the distribution does appear to be either perfectly random, or so close to random that it isn’t really noticeable. I you buy 1 booster off a shelf with no other knowledge of what was in the case from which the booster came, no figure is significantly disproportionately more likely to appear in a given slot than any other figure in that slot.
* There are no rares that always appear together in a case. There are some that are appearing in conjunction a disproprtionate amount of the time according to the data I’ve collected, but I do not have enough data (yet) to be confident of a significant trend as opposed to luck.
* The boosters art doesn’t always follow the same patterns in a case. However, there are a few patterns that are seen in multiple cases. I don’t have enough data to know if there are other trends tied to these patterns that are significant, and I doubt I’ll be able to gather enough data to be sure of anything. I’d need data on at least 100 cases to be sure of any trends in these situations…
Analysis is going slow. I am finding it difficult to find the time to coordinate the data people are providing. However, as more information becomes available, I’ll post it here (on hordelings)…
