They’ve finished and here’s a very brief run down of the top eight players.

As you see we lost our top placed player from the Swiss rounds in final eight slot. The other top players all secured their final four spots.

Eudes did a great job of making the final game. Coming into the final eight he managed to finish off both the number one spot and then fourth to secure his final spot. Special note should be for Jan. He faced a hard battle having lost map initiative. Little did he know that either Jan hadn’t paid his dues to the great luck god or David had paid more because his ability to rolls numbers 1 – 4 was monumental. Even if he rolled higher it was always 1 short of what he needed. A further note is that Jan is only 17. So I can see him being a very potent force for a long time. Kevzoid beware!
WINNER!
The winner of the 2007 European Championships is… (insert drum roll)
His band of spell casters turn out to be a sold foundation of damage slingling doom for Eudes. Again a special note: Eudes made a very early bold move and based most of David’s spell casters with two flying VCs. What followed was probably the turning point of the game where they missed all four attacks against the hapless casters. Obviously lady luck was still smiling on David. Nothing should be taken away as Eudes fought back making a great game of it even with his two center pieces either dead or routing with minimal hps left. In the end those casters, cleverly dancing around to sling more doom, just worn down Eudes to a point where nothing remained but it ended up much closer than many bystanders expected after that initial bold move backfired so badly.
So once again congratulations to a very worthy winner David and we can all look forward to seeing him at Gen Con Indy representing the very best of Europe’s DDM players.
