There’s a new Angus & Robertson bookstore in Wendouree village, within walking distance of my work. That’s great – although they don’t have the range of SF/Fantasy that Melbourne has, there’ll still be some things I want to pick up.
Unfortunately, I have to put up with the stupidity of Australian book prices. Consider this – the Laurell K. Hamilton mass-market paperback is aus$23. It’s price in America? $8.
With the current exchange rate, that means it *should* be around aus$10 or $11. There is something deadly wrong with book prices in Australia.
Is this a national phenomenon or just applies to that one particular bookstore?
National.
Cheers,
Merric
That’s bad. =(
