Terry has revealed he has early onset Alzheimer’s Disease. I’m trying to find his original post (the newspapers are reporting it as being on Paul Kidby’s site, but I’m having no luck in finding it… anyone?)
This really has me shocked and surprised and saddened. I came to and appreciation of the Discworld late, but I’ve really enjoyed Terry’s last ten or twenty books greatly…
I’ve been reading them for ages and he’s probably my favourite author – certainly he’s the only author who’s books I make sure I get in 1st Ed hardback as they come out!
As he says, though, “HE AIN’NT DEAD” yet – here’s hoping he manages to choose his own time to stop writing.
Oh no! And the thing with Pratchett is that I find his later work superior to his earlier work, so the longer he lives and writes, the better I’ll feel.
