I’m having a bit of trouble sleeping, so I’ve just been playing Diablo II… at long last. I tend to come to computer games a few years (decades?) after they were first released. I really am not a big computer game player.
This is despite being a big gamer otherwise, and a computer programmer in real life. Well, occasional computer programmer. My work today was made a *lot* easier by a program I wrote, so I guess that counts. (There are a few being used around the school. :))
Of course, coming so late to the party, I had to put up with Windows 7’s odd graphics behaviour with this “old windows” game. Luckily, I found a patch that allowed it to run, although my screen doesn’t stretch – instead, it’s this postage stamp (well, a little bigger than that) in the middle of the screen.
Diablo is dead (again). I used to be a big fan of the old Moria and Angband games (never Rogue), and it takes me back to those days – although with graphics.
I also have been sleeving my ASL rule pages, and checking whether I can use the Pegasus expansion for BSG without New Caprica (I can). New Caprica has a few problems with it revealed by gameplay, so for the birthday BSG games that are likely to be played, I’ll suggest that New Caprica isn’t used – although the rest of the expansion will see play.
Diablo II is one of my all-time favorites. Every so often, I’ll get the urge, boot it up, and play the hell out of it for a few days. Now I’m waiting for Diabolo III, but I think that’s not in the cards until 2011 (so I guess you’ll enjoy it in 2021 😉 )
