Two other things…

How annoying is EN World at the moment? Not the edition wars (though they are annoying) or the Wizards-bashing (also annoying), but the huge technical problems it’s having? Given how long it has been since EN World has had a functional review site, it seems very sad that it is now non-functional as regards to forums as well.

Completely awesome, on the other hand, is Dr Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, the latest creation of Joss Whedon. If you missed the week when it was free (I only learnt about it just in time on Sunday), get it when it’s released on DVD or get it now from iTunes. I love good musicals to begin with, and this twisted supervillain musical from Joss Whedon (starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day) that lasts about 40 minutes is abso-fragging-lutely incredible.

Still humming it.

  1. We never caught Dr. Horrible on-line. I didn’t know that it was available for such a short time.

I’m glad to know I can see it on iTunes.

Yes, ENWorld’s problems have been a … problem. I find myself trying to visit the site less and less, because the odds of it being up are so low. =(

  2. You only have a week or so to get it on iTunes, then they’re bringing it down to promote DVD sales. They’re really experimenting with this one. It’s really awesome, though, and I’m all for pitching in a few to encourage more quality work like this.

All three D&D sites I used the forums (or other features) of have had stability or technical problems of late. Maybe it’s some kind of sign I should spend less time on them.

That or hit reload more often. Something like that.

  3. And all this time, I thought the ENWorld connectivity issue was limited to my ISP…

Now’s a good day to have a credit card and buy stuff from iTunes!

  4. I’ve been very unhappy with ENWorld for the past two months. I have been considering finding another place for D&D discussion. I know ENWorld is the biggest, but it’s also firmly stuck in 3.xe land.

    I’d like a community where I can flirt between 3.xe and 4e.

  5. ENWorld has been really annoying. I’ve been considering setting up an all-games-friendly (D&D and otherwise) messageboard for the last couple of months now. I know I can run it and have it be stable.

In fact, I might just do that. Keep an eye on my LJ if you’d have an interest in such a thing. If I do it, I’ll likely do it in the next day or two.

  6. Yes to enworld. I thought it was me, as others have said. But, after several weeks of it, I figured it might be them.

Yes to Dr Horrible! Loved it! Very good stuff!
