David Tennant is quitting as the Doctor after the four 2009 specials are completed. Steven Moffat will have to choose a new Doctor Who for when he takes over the show for the 2010 season.
I’ve found Tennant to be the best of Doctors; I will be tremendously sorry to see him go. I don’t envy the production team the task of finding a replacement.
I was also saddened about this. I had forgotten about Steven Moffat, actually: it makes his job a bit harder if he doesn’t have any established cast members while he makes his first tinkering changes to the show, I would think. (A full switch like this seems a bit risky to me.)
Tennant was indeed good, and I dunno who could fill the hole.
