It’s the first real week of term for the year, and I’ve just taken my really dedicated boardgame students for their first class. They were wondering when we could start on the first day of schooland now they’ve organised everything. Regular Ad Astra classes won’t start up until about week 4 or so, but we’ve already started.
I introduced them to a game they hadn’t played before (incredibly): Tigris and Euphrates. The three of them really enjoyed it, although they’re a long way from properly appreciating the tactics and strategy of the game. We’ll have another chance to play it on Friday during lunchtime, and I’ll join them to show them a few tricks. Not that I’ve really played that many games of it; certainly I’ve very rarely pulled it out since Rob died.
Apart from that, I’m halfway through the last Brent Weeks book (Beyond the Shadows), and it’s entertaining if somewhat formulaic and still erratic in its storytelling. I might get a chance to finish it tomorrow morning between when I wake up and I get up.
Tonight is wargaming with Randy; I play to play Conflict of Heroes and Advanced Squad Leader (Starter Kit #1), which will be good.
We’ve got the next round of school reports in about 3-4 weeks, so I need to set up the database. Urgh; I’m still waiting on the format the 7-9s will be using. Hope I get it soon.
CoH

I’m writing up a session report for BoardGameGeek now, Uwe. Short version: we had a lot of fun! 🙂
