Arcanacon 2019

The Arcanacon convention will run on the 26th and 27th of January, 2019. I’m planning to be there with a number of other DMs, running D&D Adventurers League games for whoever chooses to join us. In addition, I’m hoping to have Fai Chen’s Fantastical Faire (for the first time at a Victorian event), providing more opportunity for D&D Adventurers League players to… do something magical. Probably.

If you’re interested in joining us, Arcanacon has an Early Bird ticket Kickstarter that finishes in a couple of days. Early bird prices are $35 for one day, $70 for both days.

Booking for the D&D events will be through Warhorn; I’ll make it available to people once the kickstarter has finished.

The scenarios we plan to offer are as follows:

Tier 1 (level 1-4):

DDAL08-00 Once in Waterdeep
Who knows why adventurers are drawn together? The lust for gold, a common foe, or the whimsy of fate? Pull up a stool, stoke the hearth, and let YOUR story begin! An introduction to the City of Splendor. A 4-hour Waterdeep adventure for Tier 1 characters. Optimized for APL 1.

DDAL08-04 A Wrinkle in the Weave
The Blackstaff has discovered an oddity in the Weave that surrounds Waterdeep. The enigma may have been there all along or it might be new and the Blackstaff intends to figure it out using an ancient artifact from the reign of Emperor Shoon III. Part One of the Folded Time Trilogy. A 2-4 hour Waterdeep adventure for Tier 1 characters. Optimized for APL 3.

DDAL08-05 Hero of the Troll Wars
Hurtling through time, you find yourself embroiled in a struggle to keep the fledgling town of Waterdeep from succumbing to a vicious Troll invasion. But sometimes the true threat lies within the city walls… Part Two of the Folded Time Trilogy. A 2-4 hour Waterdeep adventure for Tier 1 characters. Optimized for APL 3.

DDAL08-06 Purging the Blood
Still falling through time, Waterdeep has grown into a small city with a problem, a vampire problem, but an old friend offers a solution. Part Three of the Folded Time Trilogy. A 2-4 hour Waterdeep adventure for Tier 1 characters. Optimized for APL 3.

MOON1-1 Treasure Hunt
Want to learn to play D&D? New, returning after some time off, or introducing others to the game this is your event. The Moonshae Isles, beautiful and dangerous, provide adventurers the opportunity to fight evil–and uncover ancient secrets and treasures. When a mysterious figure predicts a grave future for you, it triggers an Isles-spanning adventure, full of intrigue, fun, and danger! Play in two of four 90-minute mini-adventures for 1st-2nd level characters. Replay to pick up the other two adventures.

MOON2-1 Defenders of Caer Moray (CCC)
The most untamed of the Moonshaes, residents on Moray are accustomed to defending themselves. Recently something has stirred the dark forces that threaten the families of this strategically vital location. With every spare sword allocated to the homelands, who will answer their call for aid?

MOON2-2 Army of the Unseen (CCC)
Little more than an outpost, Dynnegall is the life-blood of resources that flow from Caer Moray, supporting Ffolk townships across the archipelago. But the supply boat is overdue by almost a tenday and hope is difficult to find. With the recent attacks repelled, opportunity exists to send aid, but who dares to venture outside the walls?

MOON2-3 Army of the Unseen (CCC)
The events at Dynnegall revealed evidence that a new threat to fey and Ffolk may have emerged on Moray. The ties to prophecy are too strong to ignore. If true, every moment is critical. The Earthmother herself shutters as attention turns to the Eye in the Mist, a Moonwell in the forest of Moray’s eastern coast.

Tier 2 (level 5-10):

DDAL08-07 Into the Dark
When one of the Lords of Waterdeep asks you to root out a threat to the city, you respond to the call. Prepare for a foray into Undermountain. Part One of the Vampire Hunt trilogy. A two-hour adventure for levels 5-10.

DDAL08-08 Crypt of the Dark Kiss
Are there actually vampires in Undermountain? The Baron of Blood demands that you find out! Part Two of the Vampire Hunt trilogy.

DDAL08-09 Fangs and Frogs
Your chase to wipe out the vampires of Undermountain leads to the Slitherswamp. The master vampire is close at hand! Part Three of the Vampire Hunt trilogy.

MOON3-1 Atop the Fairheights (CCC)
Just as it looked like the combined forces of Clan Rookoath and Clan Rustfire might drive a long-time threat from their ancestral homes, the dwarven forces suffer a terrible defeat. The proud and slightly xenophobic dwarves reach out for assistance. But is it too late, and can a group of heroes turn the tide?

MOON3-2 Within the Tunnels of Dwarvenholm (CCC)
With the immediate threat to Clans Rookoath and Rustfire quelled, the next step is to clear the tunnels of Dwarvenholm, allowing the clans to again move freely between their homes. However, the enemy will not give up their gains so easily, as a new player enters the battlefield.

MOON3-2 Beneath the Cairnwell (CCC)
The lost moonwell knows as the Cairnwell plays a significant role in the battle for the Fairheight Range. Can it be saved and turned into a source of weal for the dwarves, or will the enemy take its power and turn it into a fountain of woe?

(CCC=Convention Created Content; in this case by Baldman games).

Also, one non-DDAL scenario, available only on the Saturday:

Lord of the Rings (5E)

A Kidnapping in Umbar
Prince Elatar of Gondor has gone missing! Can you and your brave companions discover what has happened to the prince? With tensions high between Umbar and Gondor, you are the only ones who might solve the mystery! (Pregenerated characters provided).

The number of sessions of each game will depend greatly on sign-ups! J If you’re interested in DMing or wish further information, please contact me at merricb@yahoo.co.uk
