5E Adventure Review: A Labour for Karametra

A Labour for Karametra is an adventure for level 2 characters set in Theros. It is very short, and despite the PDF having four pages, the actual content could be placed on one.

It presents a map of a temple – without a scale – and brief descriptions of four areas. Three have monsters and the last has a cursed treasure.

What is good about it is that it uses a proper Greek temple layout and names for each room and, despite its lack of detail, is nicely evocative. The goal makes sense and should engage the players.

I am not as sure about its balance. This temple has no doors, so that group of level 2 characters could shortly be facing three foes: CR 3, CR 2 and CR 1. Some parties of four level 2 characters may be fine. Others, not so much.

You need a copy of the Monster Manual or similar for the monster statistics.

It is an inexpensive product, and should run in under two hours. It is mostly combat, with one trap.
