During the last season of the D&D Adventurers League, I created a set of first-level characters that I could give out to new players at conventions and store sessions when we didn’t have enough time to create a character for them.
So, now it’s time to start creating another set of characters!
This set will be slightly more advanced than the first set, and will be built using more than just the D&D Basic Rules… instead I’ll be using classes from the full Player’s Handbook.
This set of characters will have more background details than my first set, and will tie into the situation at the beginning of DDEP-4 Reclamation of Phlan and DDAL4-1 Suits of the Mists, with the characters having traveled to aid with the fight against the green dragon that now rules Phlan. Unfortunately, the Mists of Ravenloft mean they’re unlikely to do much work in Phlan (at least not this season!)
I’ve also included a few play notes to aid new players, although a brand-new player should probably be getting help from the other players at the table and the Dungeon Master.
If you spot any mistakes in the character sheet, please let me know and I’ll fix them. I’ve used my own format for the character sheets, where most of the pertinent game information is on the front page, with abbreviated spell descriptions on the back page.
The first character? A half-elf bard!
