Weekend boardgame reports

I’ve finished writing up this weekend’s boardgame reports. The Dungeon Lords ones have been already posted, but in addition, I played… Rush n’ Crush – Fast n’ Furious – if a little deadly (first impressions) and Our second race  Middle Earth Quest – Sauron, Lord of the Rings  Factory Manager – More Factory Manager  Agricola – Derek and Sara’s first game – nice farms, poor houses! Dungeon Lords – review by session report

Last week, I traded for the game Dungeon Lords, the latest game from Vlaada Chvatil (Galaxy Trucker, Through the Ages, Space Alert). In it, you play a Dungeon Lord who is trying to build a dungeon, competing with the other players for resources, and hiring monsters and building traps to hold off the adventurers who try to destroy your dungeon each year. pre-Christmas musings

It’s almost Christmas. I’ve been spending my time playing Diablo II, Civilization IV, reading books (latest Laurell K Hamilton, Divine Misdemeanours and the latest Kylie Chan, Earth to Hell) and watching DVDs (the “new” Outer Limits, season 1; Sanctuary, season 1, and Atlantis seasons 4 & 5). Monday night, I went over to Randy’s and played Ad Astra and Agricola. Both were fun, although I mucked up … Continue reading pre-Christmas musings

Diablo II

I’m having a bit of trouble sleeping, so I’ve just been playing Diablo II… at long last. I tend to come to computer games a few years (decades?) after they were first released. I really am not a big computer game player. This is despite being a big gamer otherwise, and a computer programmer in real life. Well, occasional computer programmer. My work today was … Continue reading Diablo II
