D&D – Alice and the Dragon Turtle

I was making stuff up for the D&D session tonight. The PCs went to explore an abandoned pirate camp. (Why was it abandoned? They killed the pirates! ). Along the way, I inserted a part of Dungeonland, where the PCs had to deal with a hookah-smoking caterpillar. Later, we got back into the regular adventure, where the PCs got to try and “bribe” a dragon … Continue reading D&D – Alice and the Dragon Turtle

More on D&D Character Roles

From the discussion on EN World, where I posted this: D&D has always been about having its major roles filled – particularly those of Fighter, Cleric and Magic-User. (If you check the early modules, there’s a lot of talk about balanced parties there). D&D 3E not only wants the four roles to be filled, it provided a bunch of other character options that couldn’t provide … Continue reading More on D&D Character Roles

I really hate 5 foot wide corridors

An entire dungeon of 5 ft corridors is not fun. It is especially not fun when you have a party of 6 PCs (not unknown in the D&D world). … Continue reading I really hate 5 foot wide corridors

Dragon & Dungeon magazine delivery

I just received Dungeon #145, Dragon #353 and Dragon #354 in the mail. To say my delivery of these magazines is erratic somehow doesn’t fully encapsulate the experience. I haven’t actually *missed* an issue, but periodical delivery is not the best way of getting things on time, especially if you live in Australia. One reason I’m looking forward to the DI: I don’t have to … Continue reading Dragon & Dungeon magazine delivery
