Jennifer Fallon

A few years ago… must have been about 7, I guess, I picked up the first book of a new Australian fantasy writer: Jennifer Fallon. The book was Medallon, and although moderately entertaining, I didn’t find it good enough to continue on with the rest of the series. Anyway, for the past few months I’ve been reading a lot of Australian fantasy, and, having worked … Continue reading Jennifer Fallon

Relief!

Twilight Struggle will be reprinted in the first week of March, according to this article on bgg. I ordered it from MilSims during their last sale, but it went OOS and OOP shortly thereafter and I didn’t get a copy. I was disappointed… it’s only the best 2-player game I know. Over 200,000 copies of it were sold, according to Greg Costikyan in … Continue reading Yanks! – ASL Module 3

D&D – Alice and the Dragon Turtle

I was making stuff up for the D&D session tonight. The PCs went to explore an abandoned pirate camp. (Why was it abandoned? They killed the pirates! ). Along the way, I inserted a part of Dungeonland, where the PCs had to deal with a hookah-smoking caterpillar. Later, we got back into the regular adventure, where the PCs got to try and “bribe” a dragon … Continue reading D&D – Alice and the Dragon Turtle

ASL SK#2 S20: Go the Russian POWs!

S20 “Joseph 351” is the first scenario in ASL SK#3, and the only one without tanks. However, it isn’t a simple scenario, and beginning ASL players would be well advised to begin learning the game with the much simpler scenarios in ASL SK#1. In the beginning of this scenario, the Germans have a hill. The Germans protect the hill Interestingly, the Germans don’t have to … Continue reading ASL SK#2 S20: Go the Russian POWs!
