For all you D&D Insider subscribers out there, you can get a big, big preview of the Bard now. How big a preview? Ten levels worth. Yes, it doesn’t have all of its powers, but there’s enough for anyone who wants to play a bard in my games to do so. Let’s say this: They’re completely and utterly awesome. Their first level daily power Stirring … Continue reading The Bard previewed!
I see there’s a fair number of my friends participating in Tiny Adventures these days. That’s cool! I’m just back into it after (a) it doesn’t work with chrome and (b) the early bugs. Can I just ask that you pay attention to your friends? Visit the friends tag, and Buff and Heal me! I’m doing the same for you. Continue reading D&D Tiny Adventures
Peter Lee not to sound like the eternal optimist (I certainly don’t consider myself as such), but on a positive angle, consider the fact that they may improve their abilities with the CAD as well. they did say they just started with it. As much as I hate saying, “Quoted for Truth”, it’s certainly true here. The CAD process had a few growing pains, and … Continue reading More posts by Peter Lee
I ran two campaigns in the County of Ulek between 2001 and 2007, using similar themes: the invasion of the county by the “Fhoi Myore”, deformed giants (read Fomorians) with mystical powers, drawing heavily on Celtic mythology and the works of Michael Moorcock. The County of Ulek was the homeland of my original AD&D character, Meliander Corthan, and material I developed for his background made … Continue reading Greyhawk – In the County of Ulek
David Tennant is quitting as the Doctor after the four 2009 specials are completed. Steven Moffat will have to choose a new Doctor Who for when he takes over the show for the 2010 season. I’ve found Tennant to be the best of Doctors; I will be tremendously sorry to see him go. I don’t envy the production team the task of finding a replacement. Continue reading NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
You Scored as Character Player The Character Player enjoys creating in-depth characters with distinct and rich personalities. He identifies closely with his characters, feeling detached from the game if he doesn’t. He takes creative pride in exploring different characters, often making each new one radically different than others he’s played. The Character Player bases his decisions on his character’s psychology first and foremost. He may … Continue reading What Player Type are you?
More old articles that I wrote in 2001. Boy, that’s a long time ago now. I wasn’t 30 yet! In terms of dating, these are just before the Greyhawk Wars, circa 581 C.Y. My current campaigns are set in 596 C.Y. or thereabouts. TRITHEREON The Temple of Trithereon lies in the River Quarter of the City of Greyhawk, attended by only a very small clergy. … Continue reading Greyhawk – Trithereon, Heironeous, Zilchus and Hextor
Is it just me, or is the Petrelli family looking a lot like the family of Oberon of Amber? Inbred, manipulative (or manipulated) people with links to everyone else? Oh, and they’re effectively gods to normal people. Just watched "I am Become Death" (Destroyer of Worlds), and I was really struck by the resemblance to the characters of Roger Zelazny’s Nine Princes in Amber… which … Continue reading Heroes and Amber
No, not really. Just according to these really stupid Amazon stats I pulled from their site. Continue reading Castle Greyhawk (AD&D joke module) outselling Pathfinder!
